Jaws that Saved Mom's Life

We can honestly state that this ugly looking piece of equipment did save my Mom’s life.

We were told by the paramedic that it took the fire department (not sure which city/town they were from as there were several) over twenty (20) minutes to cut Mom out of the van.

Mom claims that at one point, the pain was so intense, she screamed out so a paramedic actually covered her with his body to help ease her discomfort, to give her support, and comfort letting her know that she was not alone. For this, I am grateful.

Adam was told that she was asked if she was ok – she said yes, he asked her if she could move, she said no as she was part of the mangled wreck of the van. Her legs were over the center console, the steering wheel was pushed into her abdomen, they had to snap the steering column up (maybe thats way the keys could not be moved!) to get Mom safely out of the van.

I wish to thank the various fire departments that responded to this disaster ( maybe not a disaster to you, but definately to the families that it affected) and to the paramedics who, I understand they were doing their jobs and thank heavens for that! also provided their services not only to my mom but to all the other victims. I can only imagine that this was not an easy task as us human beings do not understand that there just might be someone a little worst off that needs their attention more than we do.

Words will never express the depth of my thanks for all that was done to save my Mom.
