Daughter's Letter to her Mom

Ok – this might get a little mushy- but tough! Its my blog and I will write what I want.

Mom     --------      Mother       -------------        Mommy    ------------
I don’t ever want to get another call like the one I got on Monday.

You and I have had our differences – we have fought – we had times that we did not talk to each other – there were and will be (God willing) times that we did not see eye to eye on things – but one thing that I always knew was that there is nothing stronger than the love between a mother and her child.

I have joked with you in the past that “if you don’t behave, you were going in a home – oh right, already did that!”; “if you don’t behave, you will walk home – walker and all! and in all honestly, will still joke with you on this. And yes, you always had a smart come back for me every time.

Mom – I have told you in the past that you are very special to me (I think the phrase I used was that you were my favorite mom – oh wait you are my only mom!) but having gone through this past week, has shown me just how much I do love you.

There are still things that you need to teach me and things that we still have to do, places that we still need to go to (no more excuses about your capability to get around!) and people that we still need to meet. Life is definately too short – we must live each day to the fullest.

People have told each and every one of us in the past to live life to the fullest, and to let people you care about know that – well, this ordeal has reinforced that with me. Every day we have is a blessing and should not be treated lightly – you never know when it will be your last.

On that note, I want to say to my mom, my sons, my friends, and people that I will meet or have met that I am blessed to have all of you in my life and that I am richer for it. I am not afraid to say – LOVE YOU ALL.

Oh and Mom - you are GROUNDED! I am taking your keys away (darn it - they are still in the van!) and your van (what's left of it anyway) - until the cows come home!  Young lady - go to your room and think of your actions.  Yes Mom, I do remember your speech to me whenever I got grounded.
