I went to visit Mom at the hospital -informed that she had been moved to a new room on the "Bone" ward - unit 54 room 5418.

Mom was sharing a room with a nice young man who also was suffering from broken bones.  Since when did hospitals start having co-ed rooms?

There was some concern about Mom's hemoglobin - was told that it was low which indicated internal bleeding - so off Mom goes for another CAT scan of her abdomen and an xray of her chest.  No food for her until the results come back.  Was told by the nurse (Robajan - what a beautiful name!) that everything was good so Mom had a fruit cup to celebrate.

She lost her room mate as he was transferred to a different ward.  Apparently, instead of you staying in one room (like the good old days where the doctor came to you), you are moved from ward to ward depending on your injuries and/or illnesses.  Each ward specializes in one thing only (not sure how efficient that is as I don't have a lot of experience with hospitals - thank goodness).

Adam and Lindsay came for a visit - after Mom got her dinner and we made sure she was settled, we went for a drink at the Keg.  I mentioned to the kids that I wanted to do a blog for Mom so all her family and friends could follow her progress, make comments on the pages, and see the pictures that we have taken.

Besides, it gives me experience doing a blog (which is like a shared journal) and allows me to share my pictures with others.

I would be gratefull if you would add your comments, share your times spent with Mom and add any pictures that you feel we would like.  In the future, Mom will be able to communicate with her friends via email and this blog once I get my laptop to her (right now, the hospital has requested that I hold off due to theft).
